The name is a combination of the words ‘bar’ and ‘gastronomy’ and was first coined in 1991 at a small local bar in Clerkenwell, London. The concept of a restaurant in a bar reinvigorated both bar culture and British dining at the time. The Villager is doing the same for Brisbane.

Been here twice on both weekend visits to Brisbane and they won't be the last. This place is comfy central, low lighting, chill music. Good Vibes! Meals come out quite quickly and are reasonably priced. The burgito was absolutely amazing my only regret is that I couldn't eat more. Do your taste-buds a favor and drop by.
